Forest Glen Preserve is located near Westville, Illinois, about fifteen miles south of Danville, Illinois. Forest Glen is a beautiful site with a log cabin and a barn. The site staff loves reenactors, and it has hosted events for War of American Independence, the SCA, 18th- and 19th-century pioneer, American Civil War and Wild West, besides Regia Anglorum.
Limited sleeping spaces available in the cabin; tent space available
Period tents not required
Period clothing not required
Firewood, electricity, refrigeration, showers and flushies available
Memberships will be sold at the event
Hearth Night will be the last possible date to give Babette 2008 memberships for a first shipment
Hearth Night will be a time to get together, foster a familial feeling and to work on various projects. We will be able to show photographs from the west coast training session, videos on training and more; movies of interest and more
Subjects include:
• Combat
• Target archery (recreational & period)
• Cooking (over a fire using period methods)
• Making Period Arrows
• Kids' Games
• Textiles (personal and household)
• Scribal Arts
• Embroidery
• Weaving and looms
The exact list will be dependent on the availability of teachers and level of interest. If there is a subject you would like
to see added, please let me know!

Directions:
From the north, take your best route to I-74. From I-74, take Route 1 (Georgetown Road) south to Westville. At the
third stoplight (CVS Pharmacy on the left (northeast) corner), turn left (east). Follow the asphalt road (County
Highway 5) for seven miles to the entrance of the park (on the left (north). In the park, follow directions to the
Pioneer Homestead.
